Handing Over Ceremony

The long-awaited day has finally soon up. The end of a strengthening journey both physically and mentally. Congratulations comrades and thank you all that have encouraged us and taken us through this period of hardship.

For today, we match with our souls pouring out on the parade grounds, we drilled time and time again. A step at a time, resounding the unheard echoes of our united hearts, saying, "We the senior's cadets happily hand over the paved path to our successors."

Oh! The lovely musical sound of African drums and trumpets that comforted us at all time. Today is by far the most enjoyable day in the REGIONAL MARITIME UNIVERSITY.

  5. It gives immense pleasure to every citizen when they watch this great ceremony. Cadets derive immense value through attachment to the Armed Forces Units where they experience the functioning of military units and life in armed forces units. Cadets of all wings go through a long and hard training, many aspirants give up in between. Even many officers and other cadets attend attachment training with regular army units annually. This training is intended to ensure that seafarers are aware of the hazards of working on a vessel and can respond appropriately in an emergency. Basic Safety Training or BST is the starting point for persons seeking employment in the maritime industry. Such defence jobs give a high level of job satisfaction to employees, where they serve their nation. Many times students are not well aware about various jobs available in defence sector. It is the responsibility of schools to counsel and provide effective career advice to them. The various posts you shared here are very inspiring and helpful. Thanks for sharing.

An attempt to a port with no documents

Most people in this generation think that without the right documents or requirements they can't have access to what they want. Even though they might find something more important than what they are looking for on the way. Regardless, it's true but to an extent that can only be determined by the situation and character of the person at stake. “ Not long ago, I decided to go visit the port of Ghana for an internship program to cover the practical side of my course as a to-be Seafarer. I mailed the port for the recommendations but I wasn't emailed back. So I asked my seniors for advice which they gave me happily. I required just a school note which contained my name, course, level of education, and the signature of the vice-chancellor. I made a copy and deposited it at the post office.     The next day, my elder brother sent me a message to come and collect a package which he deposited at the port for me. On my way to the port, they were so many roads to ...
