Safety first 🗣👤🌊

Picture unknown source

 It's not the first time a seafarer or someone falls from the ship into the ocean without a safety jacket. Still, we should be where that, not all falls guarantee safe come back.

As an officer, pilot and rating. We should make it a habit to always follow safety procedures except unorthodox circumstances show up.

From the picture above you can see that the seafarer recently used the gangway to come down to the ladder before exiting the ship to the other vessel whose aim was to pick him/her up no matter the reason. All safety steps taken up till that point seemed safe and professional.

As we know but refuse to admit it, "Small changes/mistakes/corrections affected big conclusive results". Still from the picture, you can see that the sea level is not the best and it will be hard to hold to one's stability; if you were to stand in a vessel with less stability than the one you were on.

Nevertheless, before his/her fall without the safety jacket. If he/she held on to the metal pool of the other vessel with working gloves. He/she won't have slept off so easily.

Things to take note about at sea;

  • The competency of seafarers is 1st, and of the crew is 2nd.
  • The life of a seafarer is based on how many mistakes he can avoid by identifying the problems beforehand.
  • Quick thinking and sharp reflexes are not compulsory but if you got them good for you.
  • Ladies and gentlemen, you live only once. Make it memorable.

LOOKOUT-MAN CNIC LIMBE Just like the police who are in charge of the safety of their citizen in society against all criminal circumstances that prevail or may prevail. With these awesome team, the vessel can navigate safely through the random occuring obstacle at sea. An attempt to a port with no documents

Most people in this generation think that without the right documents or requirements they can't have access to what they want. Even though they might find something more important than what they are looking for on the way. Regardless, it's true but to an extent that can only be determined by the situation and character of the person at stake. “ Not long ago, I decided to go visit the port of Ghana for an internship program to cover the practical side of my course as a to-be Seafarer. I mailed the port for the recommendations but I wasn't emailed back. So I asked my seniors for advice which they gave me happily. I required just a school note which contained my name, course, level of education, and the signature of the vice-chancellor. I made a copy and deposited it at the post office.     The next day, my elder brother sent me a message to come and collect a package which he deposited at the port for me. On my way to the port, they were so many roads to ...
